CEEP CLINIC DAY 1

Exciting day in clinic. At least for me since Dr. S has joined the clinic!  Some topics covered included:

Approach to medically unexplained symptoms.  A few good articles on approach here and on a multifaceted intervention here.

Constrictive pericarditis: we discussed physical findings of elevated JVP with prominent Y descent, presence of ascites (even before peripheral edema) all in the absence of L heart failure, and possible early diastolic sound (pericardial knock).  Here's a great review of pericardial disease.

We also talked about angioedema and its relationship to hematological malignancies.  As a learning goal let's read up more on acquired and inherited angioedema for next week.
